STUDENTS:

•We will be having our very first Rally for my drive! At this rally, we will introduce our strategies to our staff and to our students on how we will reach our goal of winning $100,000 for HHS!  It will be fun, fun, fun, and it will give us yet another opportunity to come together for a cause.  Thank you for your support and for allowing us to bring this to HHS. Our rally will be on Friday, 10/10/14.  Period 3:  grades 9-10 and Period 4: grades 11-12.  More detailed information will follow.

•Wear PINK to support Breast Cancer on Wednesdays in October!

•Family Conference FREE event to students that are in grades 11th and 12th and their families. There will be Spanish and English presentations available. TOPICS: College & University Options, Financial Aid, College & Scholarship Application, Guidelines, & Career Guidance. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 Pacifica High School 600 E. •ATTENTION Juniors:  Those of you were are behind credits can sign up for Adult Ed. Courses to possibly earn up to 10 credits each semester. The deadline to sign up is October 23rd! Please see your Counselor if you are interested.

Viking Student of the week

 Mario Olvera was nominated by his teacher who said, “He has gone above and beyond in the classroom by designing an academic jeopardy game for all 6th period students to play on Fridays.  The  kids have enjoyed some friendly classroom competition and it has been fantastic.  He volunteered to create the game and it has been a big hit.”

Joel Lemus and David Velasco. They are being honored as Viking of the Week because they turned in a textbook. Great job David and Joel!

Lizette Perez was nominated by her teacher.  The teacher said, “I recognize Lizette Perez because she is extremely hard working and very conscientious about her grades. She is a great student!”

 


 

Volunteer Opportunities:

Port Hueneme Library 11th and 12th grade volunteers needed to tutor students in Math Contact person: Fred, Homework Coordinator,  at 486-5460

CLUB NEWS:

•Anime Club is sponsoring a Nintendo Wii Mario Super Smash Brothers Tournament.  Teams of two will play to decide who are the Kings of the Super Mario Universe at HHS.  Entry fee is $2 per team.  You can sign up starting Tuesday, October 14 in room 43 at lunch time. Signups end Friday, October 17.  Come to Room 43 at lunch to get the rules and an application. Good luck.

•Students against animal cruelty meeting every Wednesday at lunch in room 15.

•Join the Singing Club! Meetings Mondays at lunch in Ms. Jolly’s room, P.8.

•The Finance Club will have its second meeting and its election of officers on Wednesday 15 Oct at lunch in room 68.
