•Hueneme High School’s Butterfly Project -Every day, SEVEN children are lost to gun violence. Peer Resource wants to acknowledge those children, and based on the Houston Holocaust Museum’s Butterfly Project of collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies (to represent the 1.5 million children lost during the Holocaust), we have started a school-wide project of collecting handmade butterflies to represent the amount of children that will be lost to gun violence during the 2014-2015 school year. We are asking everyone at Hueneme High School to help us with this project. Our goal is to collect 2,072 butterflies by March 20, so that we can present the school with the project in a case to display in the office on April 24, the national day to remember children to gun violence. The butterflies should be no larger than 2” x 2”. Make them as decorative as you would like to.
