DECEMBER SPIRIT DAYS: Dec. 15th Candy Cane Day, Dec. 16th Reindeer Day, Dec. 17th Santa Hat Day, Dec. 19th “Ugly” Christmas Sweaters.


•NJROTC is working with the Marine Corps and hosting a Toys for Tots drive in Room 71. Any student or staff that would like to support the Toys for Tots drive can bring a  new toy to room 71 next week Monday, 15 Dec through Friday, 19 Dec. The Marine will pick up the toys on Friday, 19 Dec. Thanks for your support!

•Having a hard time finding something for that special someone? If so, consider buying a Christmas-gram that will be delivered directly to them on Thursday, December 18th during third period.

 •You can even include a personal message. Just see one of the cheerleaders today through Wednesday at lunch and they’ll make sure your gift gets to the right place.

•Take your picture with Santa on December 18-19 @ lunch!  ASB can take your picture (and you will receive a photo)! Or, you can bring your own camera … It’s just $1 per sitting!

•The Career Education Center will be closed on Monday January 5th due to a VCOE in service.  ANY HUENEME student who has ROP on this Monday please be aware the buses will not be running.  Ask your ROP teacher in advance for any make-up work.

•Tutoring Available specializing in Math & Science Monday & Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Please sign up with Ms. Pinon in the front office.

•Hueneme High School’s Butterfly Project -Every day, SEVEN children are lost to gun violence. Peer Resource wants to acknowledge those children, and based on the Houston Holocaust Museum’s Butterfly Project of collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies (to represent the 1.5 million children lost during the Holocaust), we have started a school-wide project of collecting handmade butterflies to represent the amount of children that will be lost to gun violence during the 2014-2015 school year. We are asking everyone at Hueneme High School to help us with this project. Our goal is to collect 2,072 butterflies by March 20, so that we can present the school with the project in a case to display in the office on April 24, the national day to remember children to gun violence. The butterflies should be no larger than 2” x 2”. Make them as decorative as you would like to. We would like everyone to participate!

•NFTE Business Class Earn up to $500 Requirments: High School Senior Orientation Date: January 7, 2015 Learn how to start and run your own business and earn up to $500!  •MESA Family Night & Potluck will be Wednesday 17 Dec from 5 PM to 7 PM. Please bring to our next meeting a count of how many parents or other family members that you are bringing to MESA Family Night.

 •Students against Animal Cruelty club will have their year book photos Dec. 17th, 6th period in room 28. Pease come by room 15 to get your permission slip to attend the photo shoot.

 •Join Students Against Animal Cruelty club, PHP and Rescue Mission in Helping our community! All our donations go to helping our very own here in Oxnard! Bring New socks and/or underwear to ROOM 13, 15, 28 Now thru Dec. 19th!

•Anyone interested in being on the boy’s tennis team should see Mr Moranda in rm 45A ASAP to get paperwork and schedules of practices and matches. No one can participate until their physical exam and other paperwork are cleared. Beginners welcome!

•Softball Tryouts December 17 and January 6 after school. Physicals are required prior to try outs and gloves will be needed
