Summer school (5 Credits per session)
Students are able to take one semester class per session, earning five credits per session for a total of 10 credits in summer school, generally two sessions are offered at Hueneme High School. Students enrolled in two summer school classes may be eligible to also take an adult education class during that summer for an additional five credits. See your grade level counselor for more information.
Evening ROP Classes (10 credits per semester)
Student that are in 11th or 12th grade can take the job skill training classes in the evenings to earn an extra 10 credits per semester. Classes generally meet two evenings per week at the ROP Center at the Camarillo Airport. Students must provide their own transportation for the evening programs. See Ms. Saldana-Aldana for more information.
Community College Classes (5 credits perg course)
Community College Special Admission Packet
College classes can be used to make up credits. High school students pay the community college health center fee and $1.00 per unit and must purchase the textbook. According to OUHS District policy physical education and health classes cannot be made up through community college classes. See your grade level counselor for more information.
Adult Education (5 credits per course)
Students can make up one failed class per quarter through concurrent Adult Education enrollment. All classes are standard classes not college prep and are not A-G approved. See your grade level counselor for more information.
PASS Program (5 credits per course)
Students can earn a maximum of 40 credits by completing study packets at your own pace. Most classes satisfy the A-G Requirements to solicit admission to a University of California; some courses are available in Spanish. See Mr. Ramos for more information.
Cyber High (5 credits per course)
Cyber High Form
Earn credits by completing online courses at your own pace. Most classes satisfy the A-G Requirements to solicit admission to a University of California; some classes are available in Spanish. See your grade level counselor or Mr. Ramos for more information.
Migrant Saturday School
A four hour program in which students receive California High School Exit Exam Preparation and credit remediation through Cyber High. Students will are also required to complete 14 hours of tutoring at HHS and 20 Community Service Hours at approved locations. 9th and 10th grade students may receive 10 elective credits. Students in 11/12 grade who have not passed 1 section of the CAHSEE may receive 10 credits with 70 combined hours of instruction, tutoring and community service if they pass the CAHSEE. Students in 11/12 grade who have not passed both sections of the CAHSEE may receive 15 elective credits with 80 combined hours of instruction, tutoring and community service if they pass both sections of the CAHSEE. Tutoring Log
Students will receive 5 credits for 62-75 hours of volunteer community services at an approved service organization. Please see your grade level counselor prior to commencing your volunteer/community services hours. See your grade level counselor for more information.
Work Experience (5 to 10 credits per semester)
Student that are at least 16 years of age, have a job and at least a 2.0 grade point average may qualify for work experience. They can earn 5 or 10 credits each semester (depending on the number of hours worked) by working and attending the work experience class on period per week. See your grade level counselor for more information.
Summer Migrant Music Academy (5 credits)
Students earn 5 elective credits by attending the Music Academy during the summer. The music academy is generally offered after regular summer school and students receive music instruction and also have the opportunity to make up classes through Cyber High. See Mr. Ramos for more information.
Science Fair (5 credits)
