Dual Enrollment

Registering for classes with the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE) Career Education Center (CEC), and/or the Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) is a great way to learn new skills, earn extra credits, and get a get a head start on life after high school! We encourage you to read about both programs, check out their course offerings, and discuss enrollment with your counselor so you can register today!

VCOE Career Education Center (CEC) classes are for 11th and 12th graders who want to learn technical education skills. Registration  Please read their Course Catalog for a full description of courses and see their Schedule of Classes to find out days and meeting times for the following:

  • Advanced Naval Technologies
  • Applied Manufacturing
  • Auto Structural Repair & Refinishing
  • Auto Technology
  • Aviation
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Honors
  • Dental Assistant Honors
  • Dental Prerequisite: Intro to Oral Cavity (Online Sync.)
  • Medical Assistant
  • Medical Assistant Prerequisite: Intro to Patient Care (Online Sync.)
  • Veterinary Assistant
  • Welding

Most classes are offered two days per week, on either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:30 PM-6:30 PM. Some classes have prerequisites, and most classes are also A-G approved. Students can earn up to 20 high school graduation credits and industry certification. Transportation is also provided.

Students must be accepted into CEC courses. Notification of acceptance is sent via email during the summer, so applicants should check the email used to register regularly.

If you're interested in getting a head start on your college education, community college is the place to enroll! By taking classes at a community college, students can earn high school and college credit at the same time.

The VCCCD includes Oxnard, Ventura, and Moorpark College, and students can register for courses at any campus. All high school students must:

While the per unit tuition fee for college courses is waived, high school students must still pay a nominal registration fee, along with the cost of textbooks for general dual enrollment courses.

Our school district has partnered with Oxnard College to offer two, completely free, courses to students (which means the nominal registration fee and cost for textbooks is waived). The two courses are:

  • The History of Rock Music
  • Introduction to Chicana/o Studies
